The black arbor overhang and red door, dry but slick with recent paint stood in stark contrast with the muted, dust covered surroundings. A swept walkway in tan and white tile with two modest but strikingly deep green ferns in purple pots gave sharp contrast to the world surrounding. Jason wasn’t sure what to expect when approaching this moons outpost of the Guild, but this presentation seemed to fit the profile. Ostentatiously discreet it was a most appropriate portal to what lay inside

Passing through the portal the bright yellow of the outside morphed into the brighter white light of LEDs. Round tables were draped with sheer white tablecloths, low to the ground. Around each table were eight to a dozen diners, each speaking loudly and animatedly. Kimono clad servers in brightly color reds, blues, greens and yellows mingled between them, serving what looked like a mixture of dim sum and sushi from sparkling silver dishes on large circular serving trays held in one hand, so large that they seemed unwieldy to Jason, but the servers handled them with grace. Crystal chandeliers, large drapes in off white lined with gold ribbon trim, and red carpet runners that crisscrossed a white floor completed the otherworldly affect. A green cloaked server caught Jason’s eye, danced towards them and motioned to one of the three open tables.

Alright, we’ve been accepted . The first step is complete. Next we’ll see who they bring out to play.
